Carl graduated from MSU in 1970, married Paula and went to work for BellSouth as a marketing manager. After 9 years of serving as an Internal Auditor and Marketing Instructor for the Bell System, he and Paula bought VCC in 1979. Carl's racing career began in 1971 with a Kawasaki F7 which was quickly converted to an MX bike! He has raced motocross, enduros, and hare scrambles. He raced Honda® Odyssey and mini sprints for several years as well as stock cars and modified cars. He has helped many kids learn to ride and helped several racers in their off-road career. The highlight of his racing was seeing his son, Zach, compete in the International Six Days Enduro in Portugal in 1998. Carl was pit crew for the American Team while Paula drove the chase car for Zach's bike. Carl continues to race. He has helped sponsor and has ridden in each of the 16 Perry Mountain 24 Hour Challenge Races either as a team member, duo, or Iron Man. The need for speed has always driven Carl and he continues riding the adventure and living the dream!

Johanna has worked for VCC since 2007 as a receptionist, but started out as a volunteer for the Sturgis South Bike Rally Dinner Ride in 2005. In 2012, she took on the position of Office Manager. She is a mom to Alysa Helms and wife to Chris Baxter. Johanna graduated with a Business and Communications degree from MSU.
